A fun and casual two-person pottery wheel class taught out of a potter's home studio, each person can make 2 to 3 small pots in a 2 hour studio session. Lesson can be taken by one person who can make 4 - 6 small pots in a 2 hour session. No experience necessary and students can tailor the lesson to specific project ideas they have. Otherwise, the lesson begins with a demonstration of basic shapes: a cup, bowl and plate. Then students take turns and receive help creating their own pots. Students may choose to personalize pieces with carving designs, adding textures or attaching a handle. After the lesson, they pots dry out, are fired the first time, I apply a food/microwave/dishwasher safe glaze that you choose during your lesson and fire them a second time to melt the glaze. Your creations will be available to pick up in 4-12 weeks and you will receive an email notification that they are ready.
The cost is $75 for the two-hour lesson for two people and you may email Kate to schedule your lesson. Flexible scheduling available Sunday - Friday between 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. I look forward to sharing my passion and expertise with you!
